Doveman

Joe's Pub (New York)
words:
miss jinners
Doveman pulls together landscapes of delicate pain and reflection that’s just as intimate as an Iron & Wine show, but a tad frailer. Thomas Bartlett’s voice gently hovers over the sparse, subtle music – the sad lyrics coming out almost a little muffled like he’s crying the words out onto a pillow. To add to the intimate setting, Doveman usually plays with a dimly lit lamp onstage… like you’re hanging out in their living room. Think of Joe’s Pub as some fancy rich dude’s living room, and you’ll get the idea of the potential for loveliness at this show. Come out and bring a hanky.
