You Can Thank Me Later

Architecture In Helsinki - Wishbone (Franc Tetaz Remix) mp3

OK, so by now almost everyone knows about the Architecture In Helsinki remix album We Died, They Remixed. Basically, it was supposed to be a tour-only release, but it wasn't done in time for their most recent US tour, so now it is seeing a limited release on Bar/None (you can only get it from a few retailers and websites like www.insound.com, www.ampcamp.com and www.othermusic.com ).

Anyways, our good friends at Force Field sent us this track for your listening enjoyment. yum.

trailers and vans, just clap your hands

I've begun a weeklong tour with my band, who is supporting The Honorary Title. Looking forward to catching up on the in's and out's of the teenage demographic. I'll report my findings here whenever I can get my taco-bell-covered hands on a wireless connection.

Last night we played in Hartford, CT - now forever dubbed "Shitford" by all of us. In Shitford, I learned that 14-yr-old emo fans express their love by heckling you until you want to kick them in the braces. It's harder than I thought to resist the urge when they're such brats, especially when one of them hijacked our drummer's cell phone and started calling/texting the rest of us.

Across from the venue was a gas station/bodega that (naturally) sold a vast selection of do-rags and bongs. Two of our female friends reported that some sleazy loiterers asked if they were straight and whether they wanted drugs. But the ultimate creepout happened during the HT's set, when someone tried to send me to the bodega for a food run. I refused, stating that I'd never go to that place alone. Shortly after, one of my bandmates headed over and noticed that a person was lying on the ground, SHOT DEAD at the bodega. Superb.

The Next Life: In and Out

Loose is sad to note that "jay good times" has retired his blog to pursue a rockin' opportunity that would make you proud. here is the post-mortem:

year good times crawled out of jay's birth-hole: 2003
# of times jay pulled a belin: 688
# of alcohol-inspired blog posts: 854
# of references to male genitalia(including comments): 3,259
# of readers who will miss jay good times: ?????(a lot)

jay's act is a tough one to follow...so we won't even try. xtina, maggie, and I are happy to be your new hostesses, at least until we have had our fill of rotten tomatoes. we'll be redesigning the blog feed come january to a new format, so bear with us as we fumble through the next month or two.

in the spirit of the Loose Record double-entendre, this blog shall be called: In and Out. Put simply, we will tell you what we think is in and what we think is out. Topics could range from music to scenester etiquette to music-related technology to ketchup. If you think we're wrong, convince us why!

I get nervous when this happens. My Good Times friend Jay gets this rad blog going and then poof. Perhaps he took too much GHB in the back of Mercury Lounge, maybe the eMusic crew has him tied up and they're tapping into that great big music brain in the basement of some run down building in Alphabet City, maybe he got mugged looking for sex in Tompkins Square. Well whatever the case Jay, come back. I miss you. Here I am 3000 miles away, fighting my demons one homeless sex romp at a time and all I want to do is come home, scrub with bleach, and settle in to a blog posting or two.

Sure my sites are not exactly up to speed right now, but people expect that from me. Maybe the closing of CBGB's has something to do with it. Uh, that place was still relevant, right? Perhaps my wannabe bi-coastal ass should worry about myself but I worry Jay.

The Mets lost, you're hungover. Now get over it. The Giants look tough this year and aint that enough?
