Once again its a Sunday and I'm spralled out on the couch like some sort of fortunate beached whale. It is the one day of the week where I actually feel like a man. It spoils me. A typical day consists of two delivery orders, three games and 12 straight hours of football coverage. Today that changes. I'm charging all of you with the task curbing your laziness and getting to the Bowery Ballroom for tonight's Sam Champion gig. They are opening for Okkervil River so you get two awesome bands for the price of one. I had a drink with Jack (Sam Champ's bassist) last night at 2A and he told me about the solid recording experience they recently had up north. They are fixing to unlease some new songs on us tonight so if you are some sort of A&R person (or an intern for one) come see what's up their sleeve. Sam Champion is currently without a label, but their new record is sure to turn some heads. But hey, if you don't like rock n' roll just stay at home and eat some chicken wings... Dick.

Speaking of Sam Champion, they opened for the Bay Area duo Two Gallants earlier this year. I only mention this because a couple days ago Houston, Texas' finest stormed a show and beat up the Saddle Creek recording artists. Fuck the police. Does anyone know what they said to get them so fired up?
