Ok... Ok... Ok... You Win...

The thing is that I don't believe you care anymore. Who wants to hear about me getting drunk and peeing on my rug, laundry or even a hippy couple from Stanford? Do you really? I mean, sure - sometimes life can get a bit out of hand, but at this point, all I do is work and this is no exageration. The last few days have been spent locked down at my desk. In any event, that didn't stop me from running around Brooklyn without a shirt on this past Saturday. As you know by know, Bloc Party killed it out at the pool despite our inability to get a damn beer. I was in the lovely company of Dana-Dane who shared in my fustration, but we got by on hot dogs. We made our way into the crowd for most of the set that included my favorite songs - "Modern Love" and "Little Thoughts". Near the end we found Christen in the back and decided to beat the rush back to Manhattan. On our way across the field I took off my shirt and tackled Christen on the astroturf. It was like a giant peanut butter and lesbians sandwich! We are totes gay for each other.

Later than night was Christie's going away party. If you know me, chances are you know Christie and are as heartbroken about her departure as me. Her surprise party was at Fontana's and it felt like a college reunion with all the right players. By the end of the night I found myself hugging the bar taking shots with Yaps and Gager while a mess insued behind us. It was a perfect send off.

Since that party I've been head down, blinders style working. It's been a crazy couple of days and I plan to take the productivity into the weekend. If you are down, come have a drink with us at 186 pre-Big Sleep at Cake Shop on Saturday, but before that there isn't much going on (well, I've refused to look). Demander is playing tonight and I hear their new stuff is tip top, but other than this show - I'm clueless.

Last night was a super good time. It began with a rush out of the office to have dinner with Chris and Angela at Paladar. After a fantastic steak we headed over to Fat Baby to hang while the Teddybears spun their new record. There was a lot smoke and one mask. It was great to catch some time with kids like Josh, Abe, Dani (sp?), Karli, Mark, John and brothers Finger on the Pulse. If you haven't heard the Teddybears yet, get ready - they are going to be massive. I fucking love the shit - seriously, it is all I play these days. Check out Cobrastyle and Punkrocker (yes, that is Iggy that you're hearing). I'd like to thank Rob for turning me on to the jams so early and Sam for being the man who picked these kats up at Atlantic. The record is due out September 12 so get ready for the revolution. You may want to put on your dancing shoes and go get down with them tonight at midnight over at the Annex.

We then rolled over to Mercury Lounge where I once again proceeded to goon the Queen as much as possible. I think there was also an unsolicited boob grab and yes kids - they are real and they are fantastic. God bless her. We caught the tail end of Magneta Lane who seem to be stepping right into the shoes that Sleater Kinney just tossed back in the closet. They fucking wail and they look good doing it. Next up was Silversun Pickups and though they have their twee or Sunny Day moments, I kind of dig them. Dude's voice is a bit crazy, but when he belted "Kissing Families" I was screaming like a super fan. The night ended with Tequila shots and a sweaty passout - it was all this boy could hope for.
