You Think You're A Man???

Read this and tell me you're a man. Holy shit this guy is my hero. I can just hear him yell out a "Let's Gooooo" (like Joe from Family Guy) right before he went back into the room after telling his daughter to call the cops. Thanks to Jigga for pointing out this super redneck.

In case you hadn't noticed, tickets are now on sale for the December 1st Benefit at Webster Hall featuring The Secret Machines and TV On the Radio. Tickets are only $25 and can be purchased through Ticketweb. The show is to benefit Mercy Corps. Put those hard earned dollars toward a worthy cause.

I'm Not Mad... I'm Disappointed...

Last night The Go! Team returned to New York to take on Webster Hall. It was less than a year ago that they invaded the Mercury Lounge for a show with Mobius Band, The Big Sleep and me playing obvious songs on a CD-DJ kit. This show left me fully unimpressed with the band, but last night I gave them the benefit of the doubt figuring they may have beefed up their live show since last March. Unfortunately I was sorely let down. The Go! Team just doesn't have IT as a live band. The sound man needs to work on the levels so you can hear the backing tracks and the vocals. The band's volume could have stood to be a few notches louder. Additionally, they still need to get a full band on stage. Those horn tracks comprise some of the past sections of the album, but live it's just boring. Why not employ a few capable musicians to blast them out? What seems to be the problem? Their live show is a campy mess that doesn't stand a chance at holding my attention. This sucks because I want to like this band so much, but they make it impossible. The Go! Team has lost my vote of confidence.

I'm officially over it.

I agree. I saw them at the Inotation Festival in Chicago this summer and I totally expected them to come out with this crazy high energetic show. It turned out to be a huge let down. The sound levels were all off and the the girls vocals were way too high. None of the samples that really make the songs could be heard. Huge letdown. I tried to give them some slack since the sound mixing for most of the other bands at the festival was horrible. But Now hearing it from other people, it seems like they just can't do it live.
