So I was right. Yesterday's annoyance has become today's full-blown sickness. It's not as bad as it could be due to the massive masking of symptoms by Vitamin Water, Emer'gen-C, Airborne, Wellness Formula and whatever else I've pumped into my body during the past few waking hours. My early afternoon was spent viewing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, (yes, finally). Michel Gondry is an amazing director. The extra features gave me some insight on their organic special effects, and it was all quite impressive. This is something I'm sure you already know, but if you're like me and always a step or two behind in the film game, then go rent this modern gem. I just love how all Focus Films make me doubt every decision I've made for at a few hours. Weird: While I was writing that paragraph, WOXY played the Delgados cover of Mr. Blue Sky. Life's little syncopations are rad.
Since my LCD Soundsystem recap left some doors open, I'd like to slam them shut with this link to my review of the show on The Stereo Effect. Also, a big shout out to Brooklyn Vegan for hooking me up with some pictures. Also, if you are wondering, the last line of the review reads, "Now go buy yourself a mac," which is the English slang for slicker. Since its primarily a UK web site the editor made the decision to go with mac. I didn't want you thinking I meant for you to go buy a computer, but maybe you should. Ask for Mike.
If you are planning to hit up the Eagles of Death Metal show tonight at The Bowery Ballroom, make sure you get there in time for both of the openers. The Hold Steady and Bling Kong both put on shows that are worth your time.
