At first it didn’t sound as if it was going to happen, but today I stumbled upon an April 13th show at The Mercury Lounge featuring Austin, TX’s Black Lipstick. This band is fucking Super(Mark)Duper. If you miss this show, we are no longer friends. Kudos to Donkey Breath for making this happen. I was recently passed their new record and though it doesn’t have as many basketball references as Converted Thieves its still getting major play in my stereo. My plan is to put a cot in the basement of the club from April 10-13th.Speaking of major play, I know that this is a little late in blog terms, but I can’t seem to get over this Kasabian record that was passed to me over the weekend. Big thanks to the hook up. It’s a fantastic record that makes me wonder if The Music should even be a band. Get your tickets for their two Bowery appearances on May 16th and 17th because they are sure to sell out.
Also, get your tickets for a special appearance by the Eagles of Death Metal at the Bowery on April 5th. Another new show is the May 6th Earlimart gig at Bowery. Tickets are currently on sale.
