As I read the reactions to last night's show on various bloggers, its easy to say that The Arcade Fire are a hit. New York loves Canucks! This post is actually a quick warning to all of you planning to attend tonight's gig at Irving Plaza. Word on the street is David Byrne will join the indie all-stars on stage for a song or two. Bring your cameras and hit me with full reports tomorrow.
If you don't have tickets to that gem of a show, consider yourself listed for the Death Comes for the Archbishop show at Luna Lounge. The Stammers latest addition, Alec on bass, pulls a double shift tonight with DOC. The name alone has me intrigued.

as far as the title goes, Death comes for the Archbishop is the title of a book by willa cather. Not a good one and I don't recommend it.
Other than Bright Eyes, the Arcade Fire is the best band ever to pick up instruments and play. Can't wait to see them.

thanks for the heads up on the book. rest assured i can't read.
rrramie,
i need to hear some bright eyes. i've always written him off, but after reading all the press for this new record, i have a new found respect for him. He has his head in the right place, and i think its time to give his music some attention.
Brigh Eyes is a loser. As far as having his head in the right place- by that do you mean nessled into my mule?
not exactly what i was thinking, but i guess it could work. i just meant that from what i've read, conner seems to want to make music on his own terms. he isn't falling prey to the majors, and is making his mark while helping the indies.
or your mule. either way.
i will be all over that david byrne photo op. daaaaaaaaaaaamn!
thats a serious must see. waiting anxiously.
Re: David Byrne w/ Arcade Fire
FUCK
David Byrne doing naive melody with The Arcade Fire was a real rock moment. The cameras were poppin off so I'm sure there are a ton of good pics.
I was kidding about bright eyes. I had/ve written them off too. Anything with TOO much hype (and there is such thing in my book) I can't stand. Witness my opinion of the Strokes. A band that sucks and has made two carbon copy albums to prove it. But I really did like the Arcade Fire last night. Which didn't suprise me.
RANA tonight. Don't be stupid and miss it. Unless some really cool indie Canadian band is playing that all the bloggers love. Then you can miss it.

rrramie,
the strokes are good. canadians rock. david byrne is a hero. hippies still smell.
hopefully i'll get down to the club tonight.
Jay wishes he was a hippie.
I don't mind the smelly hippies. As long as they smell like the high grade hypno bubonic. There are really few hippies at the RANA shows anyway.
