Kerry/Edwards 2004.

From the Kerry Camp:

In just a few minutes, I will announce that Senator John Edwards will join me as my running-mate on the Democratic ticket as a candidate for vice president of the United States. Teresa and I could not be more excited that John and Elizabeth Edwards will be our partners in our journey to make America stronger at home and respected in the world.

You are the heart and soul of our campaign. You've shattered records and expectations every step of the way. Every time someone said you couldn't do it, you proved them wrong. Because of your incredible grassroots energy and commitment, I wanted to make the first official announcement of my decision to you -- more than one million online supporters at johnkerry.com.

I want you to know why I'm excited about running for president with John Edwards by my side. John understands and defends the values of America. He has shown courage and conviction as a champion for middle class Americans and those struggling to reach the middle class. In the Senate, he worked to reform our intelligence, to combat bioterrorism, and keep our military strong. John reaches across party lines and speaks to the heart of America -- hope and optimism. Throughout his own campaign for President, John spoke about the great divide in this country -- the "Two Americas" -- that exist between those who are doing well today and those that are struggling to make it from day to day. And I am so proud that we're going to build one America together.

In the next 120 days and in the administration that follows, John Edwards and I will be fighting for the America we love. We'll be fighting to give the middle class a voice by providing good paying jobs and affordable health care. We'll be fighting to make America energy independent. We'll be fighting to build a strong military and lead strong alliances, so young Americans are never put in harm's way because we insisted on going it alone.

I can't tell you how proud I am to have John Edwards on my team, or how eager I am for the day this fall when he stands up for our vision and goes toe-to-toe with Dick Cheney.

This is the most important election of our lifetime, and a defining moment in our history. With you by our side every day of this campaign, John and I will lead the most spirited presidential campaign America has ever seen and fight to lead our nation in a new and better direction.

Thank you,

John Kerry

Kerry is such a bullshit-spewing cunt. Does anyone remember the primary when he was shit-talking about John Edwards' experience and saying how he was still in diapers when Kerry returned from Nam? If my choice is between Bush and Kerry, I think I'll choose to go stick my head in an oven. Thank god for people like Susan Smith who had the foresight to drown her kids and prevent them from growing up in this bullshit environment. Fuck Bush. Fuck Kerry. Fuck everyone. Vote Whig. And on that note, I better go preheat my oven. Fuck you.

Don't be a bitch, anonymous. Those who have no will to "Vote For _____" should have the sense to "Vote Against ______." I don't even care if you vote AGAINST Kerry, or FOR Bush, I just get pissed at people not exercising their right to vote. We're all cynical because we know we can't change a damn thing - but at least accept that you're no more than a cog, and do what little you can to get a maniac OUT of office and a possibly boring president that couldn't be any worse in. Or fucking vote for Nader. But don't give me this nihilist I'm not voting for anyone bullshit. My parents are pulling the same thing - and my father literally escaped from the Soviet Union. Does this make sense? I think not. This is the only chance you have to contribute to making a change within the electoral system, and even if the institution known as the Electoral College is absolute bullshit, god fucking damnit, do your part. Overly conservative Catholics preach abstinence - don't join in.

Weed- Do you really think this "lesser of two evils" democracy is really right to pursue? Clearly your Dad would understand the sacred beauty of the right to vote better than any of us, and he recognizes a reason to abstain. Why is one form of propaganda and dishonesty better than another? Isn't there a place for well-informed potential voters who choose not to vote? How much posturing and pageantry do we need to put up with before people stop voting for the candidate they dislike least? I think its uninformed voters who've gotten us where we are today...up shit creek with a turd for a paddle. And a turd for the captain.

i'm not positive but i think tumbleweed is the most practical of the above. i see your point, paul, but someone has to take office and i hope you agree that bush is not the man to do that. kerry's far from perfect but i just don't think he's as bad a man as i think bush is. plus, i'm sure that all those evangelical midddle-americans will not miss their chance to help put bush in power by voting for him. in one way the most effective form of a protest vote would be to vote for kerry simply because he's not bush. fuck, once again i don't think i've made any sense. scat turdly

Scat, Tumbleweed, come here little ones...I don't want either of you to think that my vote is being wasted by voting for Bush, or by not voting for Kerry, or maybe those are the same things, who knows? I am, in fact, going to vote for Kerry, the first time I will have ever voted in my life. Still, don't you kind of get the feeling we're fucked? Just out of curiosity to see if it's just my standards that are extremely fucked, I would like to know who you think, hypothetically, would make an ideal president...someone from the past present or future. Someone who you would vote for happily and not feel like your vote is being used to cancel out a vote for the candidate you dislike more. Tough isn't it? We're fucked, and on that note, its time for me to jump in front of a crosstown bus. I know that all of you in internetland will desparately miss my wit and silly-goose-like antics.
