The time is rapidly approaching when I will bid a fond farewell to all you east coasters and then hop a JetBlue plane to Ontario, (California you idiot). My flight doesn’t leave until 8pm, but rest assured it will be a shit show since I’m traveling with Builder, Cami, Flynne, Beach, DoubleD, Mohawk Jones, Lucy and Warrior Perry. We may never get out of the terminal. So we will land at 11pm and hustle to the car rental joint. We have a long drive to the hotel, but who gives a shit when you are sucking down sweet California air. It may be a blogfest out there, and I for one wholly endorse it. Oh, and in case you are wondering, I’m less than 15 hours away from my first trip to In and Out Burger.
If you are going to be at the festival, call me so we can make out during Phantom Planet's California.
A Sweetheart Send Off.
Last night I stayed in the office for and extra hour to tie up some loose ends that will be flailing on Monday. Then I returned home to throw together a back pack of extra undies and Culkin proof shorts. Lowel, the roommates and I took the liberty of hanging on the fire escape for a last time before Builder and I hit the friendly skies.
After everything was in order at the casa, I met up with Liz Mc for a wonderful dinner at some Italian joint on 7th Street. Even though it took us three tries to find a table that wouldn’t wobble, we enjoyed a great bottle of blanco vino, (I’m trying to be classy). Our meal was good, but it was trumped by the company. I’ve said it before, but Liz and I get on great, and one day, (soon actually) she is going to meet my mom, and then I may just have to marry her. Did I mention that Liz hooked the whole dinner up as a belated birthday present? You are a rockstar, and next time, the tequila shots are on me!
We took off from the eatery and headed down 1st Avenue in search of libations. We ended up taking a seat at a downstairs booth in 2A. We marveled at the hip parade that gleefully skipped by. Liz and I were both getting a little drunk so naturally we decided to head upstairs for a better, less pauperize like view. Miki was working the bar upstairs so I shot him a quick hello, and the guy hooked me up. He is a really nice bartender so treat him well and go see his band.
Eventually Stevo, Ghor, Hawk, Vaughn and Anoush showed up, but by that time Liz and I were crunked so we said hello and goodbye in the same breath. The night was over, and my buzz was perfect.
Have A Kick Ass Weekend My Fellow New Yawker’s.
