I'm A Slave For Bones.
Do you have Windows Media Player? If so, you should click this link and listen to These Bones' cover of Britney Spears' single Toxic.
Apparantly they played it at the last Luna show, but Sean told me half of the crowd didn't know it was a cover because it was dripping with Bones rock sleeze. Check it out and realize that pop song writers should be sending their songs to rock bands.
I Like Your Mom.
Since I already sent out an email regarding my mother's 50th birthday, than you may not need to read this portion. For those of you who didn't receive the email and are New York gurus, please drop me an email if you have any ideas on what I can pick her up for the big day. She will be in the NYC from Sunday, May 9th until Tuesday, May 11th, but the only block of time I have for her is Monday morning and afternoon. Many of you have suggested a spa or massage which is what I'm leaning towards now, but if someone has something full of awesomeness that I can get my mother and her sisters into on the 10th, than pass it on and be ready for the love. Thanks so much!
Burn It Down.
As many of you know, yesterday was April 20, 2004 which means it was 4/20. The glorious day where potheads and hippies everywhere celebrate some make believe holiday. It's like Saint Patrick's Day for the drunks. It's like Christmas for the Jews. It's just another reason to get fucked up. Did I smoke the green for the holiday? Of course not, but I did do a knifer.
In other holiday news: Happy Secretary's Day to all of you who hump desks and pick up phones for a living, (keep in mind this includes me).
Get Busy Tonight.
My initial plan for this evening was to get some work done, but at this point the heavens are opening up and splashing us with a slew of options that must be exploited.
1. You must watch the O.C. Marrissa is planning to drop the bomb at her mother's wedding shower while Ryan has to deal with that ghetto fab ex of his who is getting beat up by her fiannce. Word on the street is that one more character will be leaving the show before the season is done. We have already lost Anna and Luke, but who could be next? My money is Caleb has a heartattack once he hears that Julie was sleeping with his grandson's buddy.
2. Rana will be putting on one of their solid rock shows down at Tribeca this evening. They have just returned from a few shows out west so go lend these Jersey boys some support.
They recently finished their new record, so make sure to ask them about it.
3. I haven't seen Circle and Square in quite some time so I'll probably catch their set after the show. They will be hitting at 10:30pm at the lovely Mercury Lounge. Be there or be square, (I couldn't resist).
4. There is also a listening party for the second full-length by the French Kicks titled The Trial of the Century, at HiFi this evening.
Get there around 8pm to grab an early listen and some $2 Red Stripe.
Haircuts And Super Rock.
Some people are just plain awesome. Some of those people are having a big party tomorrow night at Pianos to celebrate the upcoming release of Dirty on Purpose's (first official) Ep, Sleep Late for a Better Tomorrow. They will be playing with Qatsi and having a bitching after party featuring Miss Modernage and Jo Divestar on the decks.
Check out the crazy artwork on this one. Those kids are great.
Guess who got a haircut?
