Girls Who Like Boys...

Another excellent Wednesday evening is now in the books. Yesterday treated me quite well. After a long day in the office, I headed home to finish up The Royal Tenenbaums which was started the previous evening in hopes of getting myself psyched up for the completion of Wes Anderson's follow-up.

Sivan came through around 7pm to begin her potato pancakes. While she ripped into those, I threw together the guac. Then we shared my kitchen appliance with her on stove and me in the oven, (not literally, dickhead). Soon D, Kyle, Megan, Hawkins and Karen showed up with their various lamentations (i.e. booze, cannoli's, and an appy). It was another top notch meal followed by, what I would call, a set up episode of the O.C. It left us feeling strange inside due to all the turmoil between the couples. Their writers are trying to shake things up, but I don't believe either of the big couples will split up, and if the do, well, Seth would be an idiot. Ryan looks like he is golden because the previews show Oliver holding a gun to Little Coop.

We sat around and finished the wine while discussing unemployment rates and other topics that most of us didn't really understand. I passed out on the couch around 11:30pm after trying to fight my beer + vino intoxication to no avail. Thanks go to all those who came through last night. Karen wants to keep it going next week since she hasn't seen most of the episodes, so lets get some ideas cooking.

Parties Parties Parties.

This Friday we have a bit of a mash up. Right now, two of my very good friends have parties scheduled on the same evening. Jordan's brother Mike just sent me an evite to Jordan's 22nd while as many of you may already know, I sent an email regarding Leah's birthday digs at HiFi. It looks like Friday will be for party hopping. All I need to know is... Who's coming with me?

Off the Wire.

Just so you know, These Bones have finished up in the studio with Tim O'Heir (did the Stellastarr* and All American Rejects records) while Sam Champion is currently working on a record with Dan Myers (enginered Adam Green's recent solo record). We should all be getting excited for their February 12th show at Luna.

Univeral Music has gotten the rights to some unreleased Marley tracks. Hopefully they won't get glossed over in the studio before they reach our hands.

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry believes that they are effectively campaigning against illegal downloads. I hope they understand that this will be like the drug war which has no end. Buckle down IFPI, you've got a long road ahead.

Web Geeks unite in an effort to stop that horrible cunt also known as our president. (Thanks to Liz for the link.)

Why do all the alive Beatles continue to suck. Give it up Ringo, you fucking commodity.

Speaking of assbag Brits, John Rotten isn't so Rotten anymore. He is participating in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. I guess he is just looking for a cheap holiday on other peoples misery. Fuck Him.

Is anyone going to Sea Ray's gig at Sin-e tonight with the Prosaics? Junkmedia gives us a reason why you should.

The Walkmen prepare for the release of their second full-lenth by booking a tour that has no hometown dates on it as of now.

As if there was any question. The Shins receive band of the week honors.

It's an older article, but Time Out New York gives us the skimmy on the best of the best in the realm of DVD extras. They hit the nail on the head with the Tap DVD.

LA tries to take a piece of NYC/BKLYN with them. It's our train. It's their train. Its the L-Train.

Enjoy folks, and keep the hits coming.
