Drunk Elephants.

Making lite of human loss isn't very cool, but check out this drunk elephant story from the BBC. These animals love the hooch, but it looks like it got the best of them. (Thanks to Henry for the link).

One Reader's Opinon.

Here is an excerpt from and email Mr. Sweet sent in reference to my comments regarding Ryan Adams' accident:

I did take a little offense at something you put on the blog today. I know I am going to catch all kinds of shit for this, but fuck it. Is it really necessary to dog on Ryan Adams? I know he's an easy target and even easier to hate, but is it truly warranted? First, you have to ask yourself if its even right to poke fun at someone who broke themselves during a performance. Now Jay, aren't we a little more mature than to make fun of someone who injured themselves while trying to entertain others? I would like to think so my friend, I would sure like to think so. And this where I am sure that I'm placing myself in the midst of a huge shit storm, but fuck it. Got to go with my convictions though. Some or a lot of his music isn't bad. In fact some of it is killer. I know, I know Gold really wasn't really gold at all, but more like a big brick of shit. Really foul and just bad shit. And I'll admit to judging a book by its cover, because just from the album cover, I sensed that lloRdnakocR was going to do absolutley no worthwhile rocking or rolling. And even more, who wants Ryan Adams to rock and roll? Its not his style. But, his two real releases this year were pretty fucking awesome. If you have mp3 abilities, I really would recommend downloading Politcal Scientist and Shadowlands. Its him forgetting that he is friends with The Strokes and getting back to country and blues. And, I know it sounds extremely shitty and stupid, but his cover of Wonderwall is actually great. What's happening here? First Elliot Smith and now Ryan Adams, it seems that Oasis' songs are in much better hands then English "glue sniffing cat burglars." (Actual quote from VH1's Oasis behind the music). And then there's Heartbreaker. I won't get into it because I know it will just lead to ridicule on your behalf or something, but its great. A certain other great person seems to agree.

After reading this I've changed my position on Ryan Adams. I'm sorry he broke his wrist. I wish he would have broken both of them.
