Back to Work...

After what seemed to be the longest binge I've ever been on, I had to step back into the working world with full force on Monday. A quick day at the office was followed by a night of trying to learn some HTML down at the pill. Noah met me after work and we headed to Norfolk street to play some spades with D and Kyle while trying to fight the looming notion of having to do it all again on Tuesday. Nevertheless, we are back to the working week and though it doesn't thrill me, I'm ready for a little bit of structure.

News and Notes...

2004 has already been an eventful year. With the marriage and divorce of America's Pop Princess, the foundations of babysitters everywhere have been shattered. A shameless publicity stunt? Noooooo.

Ray Davies got shot! This legendary Kink was trying to be the hero. Stay in the car next time Ray.

The Sleepy Jackson lose their third member this year. If Luke Steele made any sense, this kind of thing might not happen.

New Modest Mouse record, Good News For People Who Love Bad News, is slated for a March 30th release.

The Filter staff dishes out their Best of 2003 lists. With acts like RxBandits and Longwave on their Top 10 lists, its easy to see why I don't take this magazine to seriously. Steve Leckart does manage to point out that the Broken Social Scene's record was released in 2002 which makes every Best of List wrong.

CMJ drops their Top 10 records for 2003, and this one seems to suit me better. I'm glad to see the Yeah Yeah Yeah's made it because a lot of lists have been leaving that out.

While most are still looking back, the Independent take a step forward. Their take on what 2004 may hold, (the Coral have the most anticipated release???). They also believe acts such as Prodigy and Fatboy Slim are do. Don't throw away your glow sticks yet.

And finally, Noah passed this onto me yesterday. Good Charlotte is on a mission to stop their fans from considering suicide. I don't think it's a bad thing, but their fan base is made up of affluent white teenagers. Quit fucking crying because your parents won't let you stay out late.

Sorry about all the negativity today, but it comes with the territory. Time to get back to work or something.
