Back in Bumble Fuck...
After what seemed to be a quick day in the office, Trevor and I hit the road last night so I could return to central Pennsylvania for the holiday. We made great time, and I got dropped off around at the house around 10:30pm. I watched the rest of the Queer Eye For the Straight Guy episode that was on because my mom doesn't miss any of them. I even got shhhh'd during the final part by her and my sister.
Following some kitchen highjinks, Evan came to pick me up. We went over to Trevor's house to scratch some records and get psyched up for Dingers. Thats right folks, the bar we goto in town is called Dingers. We went down with Sloppy and ran into a pile of kids. It was great to see everyone and just ramble on about life in general. An after party ensued back at Trevor's, and we have decided to hit Buster's and drink all day.
Welcome home to me.
Just Cause I'm Here, Doesn't Mean the Rock Stops...
Pitchfork has released the final Top 20 in their list of the Top 100 Albums of the 1990's. Clocking in the Top 10 is Pavement's Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain; Nirvana's Nevermind; and Pavement's Slanted and Enchanted, but you know I would disagree with the #1 pick.
The Stills enjoy sometime in the CMJ spotlight.
Filter reports that Kindercore has not actually gone under, but they are filing suit against their partners The Telegraph Company.
Jay-z's final NYC concert (so he says) errupts into a mayhem filled evening.
Franz Ferdinand get ready to drop another Ep. The hype train is pulling back into station.
This week, the AV Club takes on Burt Bacharach and reviews Jay-Z, the Thrills and Iggy Pop.
Music getting me through this place: Joy Division, Substance
